Be careful! They say they have to take your money first and then try to book something for you!Inafter being repaired due to fire, she was renamed Highspeed 7. While the cabin was a bit small Baggage storage is a little dicey down in the cargo hold.
Wind was quite strong both time, however the boat cuts through the waves and is quite stable. Book via the Hellenic Seaways website rather than 3rd party sellers as it was cheaper and they didn't require as much info. The ferries themselves are sometimes clean and sometimes not so much, so be ready for everything. Some we took were very comfortable, on time and clean. Several weren't. I suppose it depends and we went in August, peak season and so alot of pressure on all the ferry systems If there is one thing I would have changed on my trip to Athens, I would have spent the night on Hydra Island No cars, no motorized vehicles, just a beautiful island and residents plans to keep it that way.
People in Greece are amazing with exception of the staff of the sea dolphins. From the people in the office to every single person on the boat are super rude, careless and not customers oriented at all. You can realise it is a monopoly service because no one put a minimum effort to be at least polite with passengers. Their prices are double the ones from the Ferry but unfortunately we didn't have an option going from Pireaus to Poros and from there to Idra.
Apart from that, the crew was smoking e-cigarettes on board throwing smoke into the cabin. If you can avoid using their service do so!! After a lot of research, I booked a "slow" ferry from Athens to Mykonos as the fast one was not available at the time I was looking for. The "slow" ferry was VERY slow.
The website said 2hours, took 3. Ride was smooth, just very long. This was the horrific ride.
The seas were rough as there had been a storm the day before, and had received noticed all ferries might be cancelled due to weather. For whatever reason, this ferry did not cancel its trip, which made us feel as though it was safe for us to go out on it. From the second the ferry began to move it was a violent ride. We were consistently airborne landing sideways to the right side of the boat.
Locals on the ferry were screaming and crying!!! No one on staff made any kind of announcement. I was terrified and in frantic panic for 2 hours!
It was an awful ending to such an amazing vacation. After the horrible ride, it didn't even matter the boat had a "layover" in a neighboring island, which was not listed on the boat's route when booking. Going there on a day-trip I chose this company to get there faster. I booked the ticket online for the departure. Atwe were told that the boat was going to be delayed by 30mins and that if we wanted we could change our tickets for the regular ferry leaving at from the other end of the pier- so try to work that one out: 5mins to get a new ticket and run to the other ferry!
The ship ended up leaving 50mins late. It smelled of fuel during the whole trip, luckily it was only for 40mins, I couldn't imagine being on that for 2houds of more.
I ended up buying a ticket for a regular ferry 1h10 journeyat least there is an open deck for fresh air. Log in to get trip updates and message other travelers.Note: Inall ferry routes and schedules may be impacted by the Covid pandemic.

They make it super easy to find what routes are available for your itinerary, and ticket prices are clearly communicated. Greek ferries do not run between every island. They generally run between Athens and every island and then to nearby islands. The Cyclades are the best islands for the first time visitor to Greece: frequent, short ferry connections with the other islands makes hopping between islands fun and easy. There is no ferry pass for Greece or the Greek islands.
Eurail does have a pass that includes a ferry ticket from Italy to the west coast of Greece and then a limited number of ferry passes within the Aegean. Whether this train and ferry pass is worth it depends on a wide range of variables and how much you plan to use the train while in western Europe there are few functional train routes for tourists in Greece.
I highly recommend downloading the Marine Traffic app. It shows the position of all ferries on their routes. Running a little late today. How much do ferry tickets cost on Greek ferries? Every route is different. There are no return tickets or multi-stop ticket. Every destination is an individual ticket. How many ferries per day run on most island routes? This can range from a half-dozen ferries between popular islands per day in summer say, Naxos to Paros to one ferry per day for some routes in the winter months.
And, of course, many islands are not connected at all e. Corfu and Santorini or are only connected during the summer months Mykonos and Santorini; Santorini and Crete. Can you buy food on board a Greek ferry?
Sandwiches, ice cream, pastries, chips, cookies, beer, wine, coffee, and soft drinks are available on almost all Greek ferries. What are the bathrooms like on a Greek ferry?
Toilets and bathrooms are quite nice and kept in a good level of cleanliness. No worries here. Are ferries rough? Will I get seasick on a Greek ferry? Ferries can be bumpy during rough seas and windy weather.
Generally, the bigger the ferry the smoother the ride. I find getting up and walking about can lead to seasickness even if you were feeling fine. Try to stay seated as much as possible. They do have sick bags too, so ask for them when you board if you think it might be an issue.Boat trips between the Greek islands are usually cheaper and offer a different setting as ferries stop on many islands before they reach their final destination.
You can go from one island to the other with the various ferry companies linking the islands. Services are frequent and fares are reasonably priced for such a fast and quality transportation. If you have already decided to travel between the islands, it is preferable to do it by speedboats as they offer not only many different route combinations but is the fastest way to the Greek islands.
For example, you want to go from Athens to Mykonos and, for some reason, the timetable does not match your wishes, you may always go from Athens to Tinos and from Tinos to Mykonos, as this trip will only last 3 hours and is very accessible.

Santorini is one of the most famous islands of the Cyclades as well as one of the most known islands around the globe! High-Speed ferries are usually smaller, the duration of the journey is usually half that of the conventional ones but the ticket fare is usually twice as high! They offer modern and comfortable lounges, air-seats and car garages. These Greek ferries are ideal for passengers who want to waste their time at the destination rather than on the ship. Catamarans are smaller than high-speed ferries and they only provide air-seats and small lounges with a bar.
As their speed is fast, they are also called flying cats! Flying Dolphins are the smallest boats that are sailing in the Greek seas.
